Endless possibilities

Surrounded by Westerpark, De Wester, the former Transformatorhuis, stands in the middle of a vibrant centre for art, culture and entrepreneurship. This impressive industrial space, 700 m² and nearly 10 metres high, features a distinctive wooden roof structure and high windows that flood the room with natural daylight. For a more intimate setting, these windows can easily be covered with wooden shutters. The rear windows of De Wester have direct views of our iconic Gashouder.

This monumental event venue offers endless possibilities: various set-ups for breakfast, lunch and dinner, a large-scale brand activation, a catwalk fashion show, inspiring conferences and presentations or a dazzling party for up to 770 guests. De Wester can be expanded with the adjacent venues of Westweelde (Liefde, Unie, Terras), creating a total space of 1530 m². Ideal for events of up to 1,900 visitors. You can organise your event from a basic set-up. Or you can opt for one of our tailor-made turnkey packages. With a range of room hire options, catering partners and technical and presentation facilities, there is plenty of space to create your own unique event. Convenience, flexibility and quality are paramount. 

Plug & Present offers a variety of ready-to-use setups for plenary events. Whether it’s a presentation, conference, or product launch, we provide a professional setting with a screen, projector, microphones, lighting, and a high-quality sound system. You focus on the content, we take care of the rest.
Food Focus provides the perfect setting for events where dining together takes centre stage, such as elaborate lunches and stylish charity dinners. Our team handles setup, breakdown, and technical support, all included in the package price. For the culinary experience, you can easily upgrade your package with one of our preferred catering partners.
Stage & Celebrate contains a professional technical setup for corporate events and festive gatherings. The package includes a stage and presentation facilities, making it ideal for speeches and performances. Necessary technical support and staff are included in the fixed price, ensuring everything runs smoothly.
Dry-hire is of course also possible. You get the keys and have full freedom to realise your vision.

Westergas as event location

Westergas has been a household name in Amsterdam for years. In 2018, the Westergasfabriek buildings were renamed Westergas. The same place, with new energy: Amsterdam’s Cultural Village. The seventeen historic buildings were each given a new purpose and are now home to creative businesses, events and festivals. Three of the seventeen listed buildings are leased out as event venues: De Wester, the Gashouder and the Meterhuisje. These venues host a wide range of both commercial and cultural events.
