Westergas has been a household name in Amsterdam for years. In 2018, the Westergasfabriek buildings were renamed Westergas. The same place, with new energy: Amsterdam's Cultural Village. The seventeen historic buildings were each given a new purpose and are now home to creative businesses, events and festivals. Three of the seventeen listed buildings are leased out as event venues under the name Westergas Business: De Wester, the Gashouder and the Meterhuisje. These venues host a wide range of both commercial and cultural events.
Cultural Village Westergas is a hub for art, culture and entrepreneurship, bringing together local residents, Amsterdammers, local and international visitors. The former factory buildings have been transformed into a cultural heart with art, theatre, film, music and a wide range of cafés, restaurants and bars.
Start your day at the Bakkerswinkel, immerse yourself in art at the Fabrique des Lumières, enjoy a sumptuous dinner at the French Cantine de Caron or drinks at Mossel & Gin, discover a new arthouse film at the Ketelhuis and dance the night away at Radio Radio. Westergas is for any time of day. You can even stay overnight at the Conscious Hotel.
